KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate, Linux Developer to join our Advanced Data & Analytics Organization.
Work with offshore development team resources to aid with onsite project deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting through the full life cycle of custom Linux based apps
Act as a point of contact and issue resolution troubleshooter for various existing Linux based production services
Work within the full systems lifecycle, including tasks which go beyond basic setup, including tuning, performance optimization, and advanced troubleshooting of system health issues
Provide support to application users and aid in providing scripting and light development to automate repetitive tasks
Work as a liaison between infrastructure teams and development teams to facilitate necessary environment changes
Manage development team requirements and goals to adhere to best practices and ensure quality of service and stability is maintained
A minimum of five years of experience in Linux administration (RedHat preferred), network and/or application support
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience
Demonstrated knowledge of Linux applications and services, troubleshooting active issues and ability to quickly learn new tools
Working knowledge of the following technologies a bonus: Hortonworks Hadoop, PostgreSQL, Python, Ruby, RHEL 6/7
Ability to install applications from source and vendor provided media or repositories
Strong disaster recovery techniques including replication and backup
