KPMG is currently seeking a Security Engineer, to join our KPMG Technology Organization.


  • Provide engineering support the service owner for security monitoring technologies and services; create and maintain system documentation for security tools; perform system health checks. create test cases, scripts and support the upgrade of security tools

  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies, as well as for improvements in security controls; support the design and implementation of related improvements; support all aspects of security tools, including architecture, engineering, operations, integration and advanced topics

  • Monitor and recommend improvements; support optimization and tuning, as well as ongoing capacity monitoring

  • Develop security monitoring use cases and supporting content for security tools (e.g. dashboards, alerts, reports, rules), including but not limited to the configuration and monitor security information and event management (SIEM) platform for security alerts

  • Provide support to CSIRT, as needed, to assist analysts with detection and response to IT security incidents

  • Maintain relationships with third party vendors of security tools and services


  • Minimum of three years progressive security engineering and operations experience; preferably within a professional services firm or similar environment

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

  • Hands on network and systems administration skills with Linux and Windows, including Active Directory competence Hands on network and systems administration skills with Linux and Windows, including Active Directory competence

  • Experience in administration of security monitoring tools, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, proxies, SIEM, etc.

  • Working knowledge of networking technologies and tools; basic knowledge in shell/bash scripting and/or Python; understanding of network and system intrusion and detection methods

  • US citizenship required
