KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Database Administrator, to join our KPMG Technology Organization.
Provide technical support of database environments/applications, including software installation, database creation, upgrades, patches, problem diagnosis, performance monitoring, database maintenance, process automation, evaluation, and tuning recommendations; develop, implement and support backup/restore, disaster recovery and data replication procedures and exercises
Participate in all aspects of the lifecycle for database environments and in the implementation of application requested database code and configuration changes in supported database environments
Participate in the creation of new policies, procedures, projects and processes
Evaluate, document, and recommend database-related software products within technical architecture framework
Interact with various technology teams regarding work requests submitted, participate in the creation of new policies, procedures, projects, processes and participate in all aspects of the lifecycle for database environments
Provide technical guidance for junior members of the team and create periodic status reports for management
Three years of experience in administering and managing large databases in complex enterprise environments
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
Senior technical skills with supporting Oracle production databases; hands-on database administration experience with Oracle 12c and 11g; includes strong proficiency skills in both Unix and Windows environments; knowledge and experience of PostgreSQL, MongoDB and other Open Source technologies is a plus
Demonstrated excellent skills in problem diagnosis, troubleshooting, performance monitoring and tuning; excellent skills in managing Oracle DataGuard and database restore and recovery; excellent skill in Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN, AWR, ADDM and shell scripting; strong knowledge of OEM management and administration; strong process management skills with ability to handle mid to large projects
Strong communication skills; excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, must be a team player with the ability to easily and effectively interact with technical, non-technical, support, and business personnel at all levels; ability to work collaboratively with people from other technical and support departments such as system administration, network support, technical support, operations and QA
Be a self-starter and self-motivated with a proven ability to learn new software and technologies rapidly; ability to be proactive and to able to manage own projects efficiently for on-time delivery; experience and capability of working in a fast-paced environments; ability to provide off-hours support, include evenings and weekends when required
