KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Big Data Software Engineer to join our Advanced Analytics Organization.
Rapidly architect, design, prototype, and implement architectures to tackle the Big Data and Data Science needs for a variety of Fortune 1000 corporations and other major organizations
Work in cross-disciplinary teams with KPMG industry experts to understand client needs and ingest rich data sources such as social media, news, internal/external documents, emails, financial data and operational data
Research, experiment, and utilize leading Big Data methodologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, HDInsight, Azure Data Lake Analytics and Azure Data Warehouse
Architect, implement and test data processing pipelines and data mining / data science algorithms on Microsoft Azure
Translate advanced business analytics problems into technical approaches that yield actionable recommendations in diverse domains such as risk management, product development, marketing research, supply chain and public policy
Communicate results and educate others through insightful visualizations, reports and presentations
Minimum of five years of data analytics experience with a professional services firm, technology firm, an internal strategy/analytics group, or similar environment
Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative field from an accredited college or university (master's or MBA degree preferred) with working knowledge of topics such as computer science, statistics, econometrics, machine learning, operations research, decision science and cloud computing
Experience designing, architecting, and delivering big data solutions utilizing either the Cortana Intelligence Suite of analytics services part of Microsoft Azure or the Big Data services on Amazon AMS
Preferred experience with services part of Cortana Intelligence Suite such as HDInsight, Azure Data Lake, Azure Machine Learning, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure SQL, Streaming Analytics, IoT, Bot Framework, Cognitive Services, Data Catalog, Azure Data Factory and Power BI
Experience with similar Amazon AWS fluency in analytics services such as EMR, RedShift, Kinesis, QuickSight etc. who are interested in also learning Azure
Ability to travel up to 80%
